Privacy Policy
1. Overview
DefineMine is a literary gallery where people write one-line personal definitions of words and browse others'. Anyone can browse without an account; an account is required to contribute (writing, appreciating, saving, suggesting). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
2. Information we collect
a. Account information (when you sign in with Apple or Google): your email address, an account identifier from the sign-in provider, and the name and profile image URL the provider shares. We use these to create and secure your account.
b. Profile information you provide: username, display name, bio.
c. Content you create: definitions and optional accompanying notes, private words, collections (names and descriptions), appreciations, topic suggestions, reports you submit, and your block and hide lists.
d. Usage information (collected automatically): app interaction events — for example, that a definition was submitted, with metadata such as the selected font and whether a note was included. The text of your definitions is not sent to our analytics tool. We also process device and OS type, app version, language setting, timestamps, and IP addresses handled transiently by our infrastructure.
e. Error information: crash reports and error diagnostics (error messages, stack traces, device state at the time of an error).
We do not collect precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we do not show ads.
3. How we use information
To provide and operate the service (accounts, galleries, curation, word of the day); display your public content to other users; operate safety features (reports, blocks, hiding, moderation); analyze usage to improve the service; diagnose and fix errors; respond to inquiries; enforce our Terms; and comply with law.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Performance of contract (operating the service), legitimate interests (analytics, safety, error monitoring), consent where required, and legal obligations.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers. We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf:
- Supabase, Inc. — database and authentication hosting. Primary data is stored in the Seoul, South Korea region.
- PostHog, Inc. (United States) — product analytics.
- Functional Software, Inc. dba Sentry (United States) — error monitoring.
- Vercel, Inc. (United States) — website and web API hosting.
- Cloudflare, Inc. — DNS and routing of emails sent to our support address.
- Apple / Google — sign-in providers and app distribution platforms.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the service and its users.
6. International transfers
We are based in the Republic of Korea and store primary data in Korea. Some providers above process data in the United States or other countries; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account) or on the web (https://definemine.app/account/delete). Deletion is immediate and irreversible: your definitions, private words, collections, appreciations, suggestions, and block lists are deleted. Residual copies in backups are removed in the ordinary course of backup cycles. We may retain limited records where required by law.
8. Your rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your information, and to withdraw consent. Most of these can be exercised directly in the app; for anything else, contact support@definemine.app.
9. Children
DefineMine is not directed to children under 14 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.
10. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and database-level access controls. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
11. Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app or on our website.

제1조 (총칙)
DefineMine(생각의 전시회)은 단어에 대한 한 줄 정의를 쓰고 다른 사람의 정의를 감상하는 문학 갤러리 서비스입니다. 계정 없이 열람할 수 있으며, 기여(작성·공감·저장·제안)에는 계정이 필요합니다. 본 방침은 개인정보 보호법 등 관련 법령에 따라 이용자의 개인정보를 어떻게 수집·이용·보관·파기하는지 안내합니다.
제2조 (수집하는 개인정보 항목 및 방법)
- 계정 정보 (Apple/Google 로그인 시): 이메일 주소, 로그인 제공자의 계정 식별자, 제공자가 전달하는 이름·프로필 이미지 URL
- 프로필 정보 (이용자 작성): 사용자명, 표시 이름, 소개
- 이용자 작성 콘텐츠: 정의 및 선택적 부연 글, 나만의 단어, 컬렉션(이름·설명), 공감, 단어 제안, 신고 내용, 차단·숨김 목록
- 서비스 이용 정보 (자동 수집): 앱 이용 이벤트 — 예: 정의 작성 발생 여부와 선택 폰트·부연 글 포함 여부 등의 메타데이터. 정의 본문 텍스트는 분석 도구로 전송하지 않습니다. 그 외 기기·OS 종류, 앱 버전, 언어 설정, 접속 일시, 인프라에서 일시적으로 처리되는 IP 주소
- 오류 정보: 앱 충돌·오류 진단 데이터(오류 메시지, 스택 트레이스, 오류 시점 기기 상태)
정밀 위치, 연락처, 광고 식별자는 수집하지 않으며, 광고를 게재하지 않습니다.
제3조 (수집·이용 목적)
서비스 제공·운영(계정, 갤러리, 큐레이션, 오늘의 단어), 공개 콘텐츠 게시, 안전 기능 운영(신고·차단·숨김·운영 조치), 서비스 개선을 위한 통계·분석, 오류 진단·수정, 문의 응대, 약관 위반 대응, 법령 준수.
제4조 (보유·이용 기간 및 파기)
개인정보는 회원 탈퇴(계정 삭제) 시 지체 없이 파기합니다. 계정 삭제는 앱(설정 → 계정 삭제) 또는 웹(https://definemine.app/account/delete)에서 언제든 가능하며, 즉시·영구적입니다. 삭제 시 작성한 정의, 나만의 단어, 컬렉션, 공감, 단어 제안, 차단 목록이 함께 삭제됩니다. 백업 매체의 잔여 사본은 백업 주기에 따라 순차 삭제됩니다. 관련 법령상 보존 의무가 있는 정보는 해당 기간 보관 후 파기합니다. 전자적 파일은 복구 불가능한 방법으로 삭제합니다.
제5조 (제3자 제공)
이용자의 개인정보를 원칙적으로 제3자에게 제공하지 않습니다. 다만 법령에 근거한 적법한 요구가 있는 경우 등 예외적인 경우에 한해 제공될 수 있습니다.

이용자는 국외 이전을 원하지 않는 경우 서비스 이용(또는 문의 발송)을 중단하고 계정 삭제를 통해 이전을 거부할 수 있습니다.
제8조 (정보주체의 권리와 행사 방법)
이용자는 언제든지 자신의 개인정보에 대한 열람·정정·삭제·처리정지를 요구할 수 있습니다. 대부분은 앱 내 기능(프로필 편집, 콘텐츠 삭제, 계정 삭제)으로 직접 행사할 수 있으며, 그 외 요청은 support@definemine.app 으로 문의해 주세요.
제9조 (만 14세 미만 아동)
DefineMine은 만 14세 미만(또는 해당 지역 법령상 최소 연령 미만) 아동을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 해당 아동의 개인정보를 수집하지 않습니다. 수집 사실을 인지한 경우 지체 없이 파기합니다.
제10조 (안전성 확보 조치)
전송 구간 암호화, 데이터베이스 접근 통제(행 수준 보안 정책), 접근 권한 최소화 등 업계 표준 수준의 보호 조치를 적용합니다.
